Expert Gas Installation You Can Trust
Installing a gas appliance is not a simple plug-and-play task. It involves working with pressurised fuel lines, ensuring airtight connections, verifying adequate ventilation, and confirming that every component meets the safety standards set by the Energy Commission of Malaysia. A poorly executed installation can lead to gas leaks, carbon monoxide build-up, appliance malfunction, or worse — fire and explosion.
FlameGuard Technical Services provides end-to-end gas appliance and piping installation for residential homes, condominiums, restaurants, commercial kitchens, and light industrial facilities. Every installation is carried out by certified Competent Persons registered with the Energy Commission, and every job is pressure-tested and documented before handover.
What We Install
Our installation services cover the full range of gas-fed equipment and supporting infrastructure commonly used in Malaysia:
- Gas stoves and cooktops — freestanding, built-in, and countertop models from all major brands including Rinnai, Elba, Bosch, and Fotile.
- Commercial burners and wok ranges — high-output burners used in restaurant and hawker-centre kitchens, including multi-ring kwali burners rated up to 45 kW.
- Gas ovens and combination units — built-in ovens, convection ovens, and combination oven-grill units for both domestic and commercial use.
- Gas water heaters — instantaneous and storage-type water heaters with proper flue routing and ventilation.
- Gas piping and supply lines — new copper, corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST), and black iron pipe runs from the meter or cylinder point to each appliance location.
- Regulators, valves, and manifolds — pressure regulators, isolation valves, emergency shut-off valves, and multi-outlet manifold systems for commercial setups.
Our Installation Process
Every FlameGuard installation follows a structured, safety-first process that ensures compliance and long-term reliability. Here is what you can expect:
- Site survey and consultation — we visit your premises to assess the existing gas infrastructure, measure pipe runs, check ventilation, and discuss your requirements. For new builds and renovations, we work from architectural plans to design the gas reticulation layout.
- Quotation and scheduling — you receive a detailed written quotation that itemises materials, labour, and any permit fees. Once approved, we schedule the installation at a time that minimises disruption to your household or business operations.
- Pipe routing and installation — our team installs the gas piping according to the approved layout, using appropriate materials for each section. All pipe supports, brackets, and penetrations are installed to Malaysian Standards (MS 830 and MS 930) requirements.
- Appliance connection and commissioning — each appliance is connected, the gas supply is turned on, and the unit is tested across all functions. Flame characteristics, ignition reliability, and safety device operation are verified.
- Pressure testing and leak check — the entire system undergoes a pressure-drop test at the prescribed test pressure. Every joint and connection is checked with leak detection solution. Only after a confirmed pass do we hand over the system.
- Documentation and handover — you receive a completion report, test certificates, and any applicable warranty documents. For commercial installations, we also provide the documentation required for local authority inspections.
Residential Installations
For homeowners, a new gas installation typically involves running a supply line from an external LPG cylinder point or the building's centralised gas riser to the kitchen. We handle everything from drilling the necessary pipe penetrations to fitting isolation valves behind the appliance for easy future maintenance. In condominiums and apartments with centralised piped gas systems, we coordinate with building management to ensure the installation complies with the building's gas supply regulations.
Common residential projects include replacing an electric hob with a gas cooktop during a kitchen renovation, adding a gas point for a new oven, or upgrading the entire gas line from an ageing rubber hose setup to a permanent copper or CSST installation. We also install gas bayonet fittings that allow appliances to be connected and disconnected safely without tools — a popular choice for modern Malaysian kitchens.
Commercial and Kitchen Installations
Commercial kitchens have significantly higher gas demands and more stringent regulatory requirements than residential properties. FlameGuard has extensive experience installing gas systems in restaurants, hotel kitchens, catering facilities, food courts, and industrial canteens throughout the Klang Valley.
For commercial projects, our scope typically includes designing the gas reticulation layout, sizing the supply lines to handle peak demand across multiple appliances operating simultaneously, installing a manifold distribution system with individual isolation valves for each appliance, and fitting emergency shut-off devices as required by DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) and Bomba (Fire and Rescue Department) regulations.
Compliance and Safety Standards
All FlameGuard installations are carried out in accordance with the Gas Supply Act 1993, the Gas Supply Regulations 1997, and the relevant Malaysian Standards for gas piping and appliance installation. Our technicians hold valid Competent Person certificates and stay current with regulatory updates through ongoing training.
We use only materials that carry the appropriate certifications — SIRIM-approved regulators, MS-rated pipe fittings, and hoses that meet the applicable burst-pressure and ageing-resistance standards. We do not use substandard or uncertified components under any circumstances, because the safety of your family or staff is not something we are willing to compromise.
